Addiction changes everything about the way you experience life; that's why outpatient addiction treatment at Hazelden is holistic and individualized, providing care for your body, mind and spirit. Connecting You With What Works We align the time-tested wisdom of Twelve Step principles with the latest application of neuroscience, mindfulness, and other evidence-based approaches in addressing the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of recovery. Some of the evidence-based therapies include: Mindfulness techniques to reduce stress and strengthen coping skills Motivational interviewing to increase the desire and ability to make lasting changes Cognitive-behavioral exercises to increase awareness of and challenge negative thinking patterns Twelve-step facilitation to provide a roadmap for recovery and mental wellness in the context of a supportive fellowship Group therapy methods that encourage connection, community, accountability and interpersonal awareness Extra Focus When Needed More often than not, addiction comes with complicating factors, including mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, attention problems, eating disorders or compulsive behaviors. With such complex disorders, the most effective care integrates addiction and mental health treatment so that both issues are addressed at the same time. Your treatment team at Hazelden includes medical and mental health professionals who design your care plan with whatever therapies, mental health services, and medications are appropriate. While our Intensive Outpatient Addiction Treatment program typically runs for eight weeks, we work closely with each patient to determine the most effective next steps.
