Dr. Woods holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, bringing a broad clinical background spanning substance use, co-occurring disorders, crisis services, community mental health, and family counseling. As a faculty member at the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School, she draws on both professional practice and scholarship to inform her work in counselor education. Her areas of interest include future counselor development through diagnostic competencies, counselor self-efficacy, and clinical supervision.
Prior to joining Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School, Dr. Woods served in leadership at the Flanagan Counselor Education Clinic at William & Mary, providing clinical and administrative oversight while supervising master's and doctoral level counselors and supervisors. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP) in Virginia, and board-approved licensure supervisor.
