Bio
Dr. Monica Mayer is an emergency medicine physician and Tribal Councilwoman for the Mandan Hidatsa and Arikara (MHA) Nation. A former Army medic and chief medical officer for Indian Health Service’s Great Plains area, she advocates for Native health and recovery. She earned her medical degree from the University of North Dakota and has represented tribal health at the United Nations.
