Day Treatment Day treatment at the Betty Ford Center in San Diego is also known as partial hospitalization. This treatment program offers the most intensive level of outpatient drug rehab and includes a care team dedicated to your recovery. Programming takes place five days a week for four or more hours a day. Our day treatment program is an effective drug rehab option for men, women and teens who: Have experienced chronic relapse Have made multiple past attempts at rehab Struggle with anxiety, depression or other co-occurring mental health issues Patients are also referred to our day treatment program as a “step down” level of care following inpatient rehab. This is an especially effective option for teens and adults who want the structure and support of individual and group counseling as they integrate back into home/work life. For patients who also suffer from co-occurring mental health disorders, our on-staff licensed mental health professionals are typically involved in treatment recommendations and planning. And for patients who are diagnosed with opioid addiction, the Betty Ford Center’s San Diego facility offers special-focus groups and counseling to address recovery challenges and relapse risks. Day treatment programming at the Betty Ford Center in San Diego takes place Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from noon to 5 p.m. Intensive Outpatient Treatment Based on your specific situation, clinicians at the Betty Ford Center will recommend a level and frequency of addiction treatment to best meet your needs and lifestyle in establishing and strengthening recovery. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) at our San Diego treatment center meets three to four days a week for three hours a day (9-12 hours week). Two weekday IOP schedules are available for adults to choose from: Either noon-3 p.m. or 6 to 9 p.m. Our IOP rehab program for teens meets weekdays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. As each patient progresses in treatment, our clinical team continually assesses and adjusts the individualized care plan, with IOP sessions scheduled less frequently as designated milestones are met. Outpatient Treatment Outpatient alcohol and drug treatment at the Betty Ford Center in San Diego is similar to our IOP level of care, with the difference being a reduced frequency of programming. Our outpatient rehab sessions meet one to two days a week for three hours a day (for a total of 3-6 hours weekly) from noon to 3 p.m. or 6 to 9 p.m. Teen Intervene If your teenage daughter or son has been caught using marijuana or other drugs, or if she or he has admitted to drinking with other underage friends, you are likely concerned about the severity of the problem and the best next-step for addressing the situation. Your teenager may not have addiction, but some type of intervention is needed. Through our Teen Intervene screening and brief intervention program, your teenager will meet with one of our addiction counselors for three sessions in order to: Identify the reasons for their alcohol or drug use Understand the consequences and effects of that use Develop a personalized course of action for making healthier choices Teen Intervene also provides education, support and guidance for parents who are typically invited to attend the third counseling session with their child. Intervention Workshop If you are concerned about a loved one’s drinking or drug use, come to our outpatient addiction treatment center in San Diego to learn how an intervention could help guide your loved one into treatment. Our recovery experts offer an intervention education seminar for adults every Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to noon. This seminar is free to the public and includes educational materials about the signs and symptoms of substance abuse, how to cope with enabling behaviors, and what’s involved in planning and conducting a successful intervention. Family Support Addiction affects the entire family, and supporting family members is an important part of what we do. Our San Diego facility offers a free workshop for family members of those in our addiction treatment programs. This workshop is held every Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. Recovery Management Most people who struggle with addiction to alcohol or other drugs benefit from continuing care and support—after rehab—to strengthen skills that build lasting recovery.
