Valerie Slaymaker, Vice President Education, Quality and Research
Valerie Slaymaker, PhD, is vice president of Education, Quality and Research at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation and chief academic officer and provost of the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies, an accredited institution of higher learning preparing addiction counselors. Dr. Slaymaker holds doctorate and master's degrees in clinical psychology and is trained as a scientist-practitioner. Her scholarly and research interests include addiction treatment research, academic program evaluation, and the implementation of evidence-based practices into clinical and educational programming.

Quyen Ngo, PhD, Executive Director, Butler Center for Research
Dr. Quyen Ngo leads research activities at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation as the executive director of the Butler Center for Research. She earned her PhD in clinical psychology and women's studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she also completed a post-doctoral research fellowship. Over the past eight years, Dr. Ngo has conducted grant-funded research on the role of substance use in intimate partner violence and technology-enhanced brief interventions for substance use disorders. |

Kate Gliske, Research Scientist
Kate Gliske, PHD, is a research scientist with the Butler Center for Research, part of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. Dr. Gliske holds a masters in counseling psychology and a doctorate in family social science, where she was additionally trained as a prevention scientist. She has worked on a wide variety of research projects over the last 15 years. Her research interests include studying the benefits of preventive parenting programs for families undergoing stress and the implementation and dissemination of evidence-based practices for addiction that target the entire family system.

Ann Geht, Librarian
Ann Geht, MLIS, is the librarian for the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. She manages the Hazelden Betty Ford Addiction Research Library and the Hazelden Pittman American Alcoholism Archives. Ann is a member of the international association SALIS: Substance Abuse Librarians & Information Specialists, as well as the Health Science Libraries of Minnesota (HSLM), and the Central Minnesota Libraries Exchange (CMLE). She has worked as a professional librarian in academic and public libraries for over fifteen years and specializes in social sciences and psychological research.
